Meet Diana

Diana Lee Prescott (she/her), PhD, grew up on a farm near Tipton, Indiana, with her parents, Dallas and Marilyn, and her sister, Kathleen Etchison. She completed her BA in psychology and Spanish at Butler University and an MA and PhD in psychology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She has a major in clinical psychology, minors in developmental and community psychology, and a rural community specialty. Prescott completed a predoctoral internship at the Indiana University School of Medicine.


She has been employed at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville, Indiana, and The Acadia Hospital in Bangor, Maine. She has also worked contractually for Eastern Maine Medical Center (EMMC) and the University of Evansville. Prescott created a rural health consulting practice for women and children, Hampden Psychological Consultation PLLC. She has developed the integrated behavioral health portion of EMMC's pediatric obesity program, Way to Optimal Weight (WOW). She supervises doctoral students as an adjunct professor for the University of Maine-Orono.

Diana and David have three daughters, Rachel (26), Meredith (24), and Eleanor (20). Rachel just completed her third year in a PhD program in Microbiology at NYU.  Meredith just returned to Maine after serving with Americorps growing vegetables for food pantries in Colorado and has a Bachelor's degree in Public Health with a minor in Sustainability.  Eleanor will be a Junior this fall at the University of Maine-Orono studying Political Science and International Affairs. David is a clinical psychologist who is employed as an associate professor at Husson University, coordinator of Health Administration and Public Health.
