The DC Psychological Association is hosting a CE event that Diana is presenting at!
Rural practice can involve work with a variety of populations facing various difficulties and barriers to care. This presentation will explore challenges for some populations and examples of ways to overcome barriers to care. Attendees will be updated on rural psychological issues and methods of provision of integrated psychological healthcare provided to rural residents (e.g., pediatric obesity, mobile behavioral healthcare provided to migrant farmworkers, rural suicide/depression).

Participants will be able to:
1) Identify factors related to depression and suicide in rural areas, particularly with farmers.
2) Understand some of the way healthcare can be provided to migrant farmworkers.
3) Discuss some of the particular difficulties people experience in rural areas, such as with substance abuse.
4) Describe how telehealth can advantage rural practice in integrated behavioral healthcare, such as in specialty clinics in pediatric obesity.
